What's Involved in One Day Basic First Aid Training

Basic First Aid Training Aim and Objectives

This one day Basic First Aid course equips the learner with the knowledge, practical skills & understanding required to provide appropriate first-aid treatment for injuries and sudden illness until medical professionals arrive to take over. The aims of first aid include preserving life, preventing injury from getting worse, aiding recovery, relieving pain, and protecting the unconscious.

Depending on your identified safety hazards and risks, one or several of your team may need to go through CPR and first aid training which can be focused on the work setting and within an occupational safety context. According to the character of the company, program may be fitted to cover the client’s needs.

Basic First Aid Course Content

  • Introduction to First Aid (Aims of first aid & the role of a first aider, Incident management, Communicating with a patient)
  • Lifesaving Skills (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Choking)
  • Common Medical Conditions (Heart Attack, Stroke)
  • Common Injuries (Bleeding and wounds, Recognition and treatment of shock, Burns and scalds, Fractures, Sprains and strains)

Method of Delivery, Duration & Assessment

Training delivery includes both lecture methods (including PowerPoint presentation) videos and practical work with "hands-on" experience.


Course duration is 1 Full Day.


Maximum recommended number of participants: 6


All candidates will perform final assessment in CPR and small quiz at the end of the day.

Fully Compliant Certificate valid for 2 years

 All trainees will be awarded with Irish Heart Foundation CPR & AED Certificate and Handle with Care Certificate in Basic First Aid.

Both certificates will expire after 2 years

  • Do you provide Basic First Aid Training for individuals?

    No. We only provide training for groups of 6.

  • Do you deliver 1 Day First Aid training at your location?

    No. We only deliver training at client's premises. However, if your premises is not suitable for training delivery, we may help in organising alternative venue.

  • Do you require booking deposit?

    Most of our courses do not require booking deposit payment. However is some cases where training involves multiple sessions and several days to be be booked, we may require deposit payment in advance.

  • What if I we need to cancel?

    If you need to cancel your training, we will be happy to accomodate you with alternative dates.
