What Is Manual Handling Training?
Manual handling training teaches employees how to safely lift, carry, push, pull, and move loads in the workplace. It is a legal requirement under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007, and is essential for reducing the risk of injury caused by incorrect manual handling techniques.
This course provides practical instruction in the anatomy of the spine, injury prevention, posture, and safe movement. It ensures participants understand both the risks and responsibilities involved in manual handling tasks at work.
Who Should Attend Manual Handling Training?
This course is suitable for employees in retail, hospitality, construction, warehousing, healthcare, education, and office environments — any role involving physical movement of objects, even occasionally.
There are no entry requirements. This training is aimed at all levels of staff, from frontline workers to supervisors, and supports compliance with Irish workplace safety laws.
